Traditional Cuisine”(Winter preparations) is a multilateral Comenius partnership which involves 5 partner schools in Turkey, Slovenia, England, Italy and Poland and is planned to take place between 2009-2011.

The main idea is to examine, research and learn the methods of preparation, preservation and usage of the summer food in winter both traditionally and modern.

The Project is aiming to build a European citizenship idea, to create an interaction and to avoid prejudice between countries by using the modern and traditional winter preparation and preservation methods.

Also we are aiming to improve the teachers’ and pupils’ language skills self-esteem; to promote new ideas and democratic way of thinking and strengthen the motivation of learning. We also aim to raise creativity and innovation as key competence for personal, social, cultural development. It is planned to foster the creative and innovative potential in all pupils by means of the handicrafts, CDs, web-site and their own recipes.

At the end of the project we plan that the teachers and the pupils who visit the partner schools will bring back to their own establishment their first hand experiences of “foreign” life and thereby enhance the whole schools understanding of the different countries; improve technological and cultural creative thinking; nurture disabled students self-esteem, innovative skills and socialization.
